Support and Advice for Parents
What is Early Help?
Early Help in Warwickshire is support for children, young people and families when difficulties first start to arise, to prevent concerns from becoming more serious. It focuses on working with families at the earliest opportunity to identify needs, build on strengths and help improve outcomes for children and young people.
Early Help is voluntary and works best when families, schools and other professionals work together. Support can be offered for a range of concerns, including emotional wellbeing, behaviour, school attendance, family relationships, health issues or practical challenges at home.

What support is offered at High Meadow?
At High Meadow we believe that the primary years are a crucial time in a child’s development. During this stage, children build the foundations for learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and relationships. When children receive the right support early on, they are more likely to feel confident, secure, and ready to learn.
Early identification of learning or wellbeing needs allows schools to respond quickly and effectively, preventing small difficulties from becoming barriers to progress. By supporting children’s emotional and social development alongside their academic learning, primary schools create nurturing environments where every child can flourish. Early support helps children develop resilience, positive attitudes to learning, and the skills they need for long-term success. Due to this belief we have implemented the following:
- Social, Emotional, mental health (SEMH) Support through an intervention with a member of school staff.
- A conversation with a member of staff offering advice of how to support your child.
- Lego workshop for selected children.
- An Early help referral if it is deemed necessary.
